About us:
Bainbridge Island Special Needs Foundation (BISNF) is a 501(c)(3) community-based organization dedicated to providing transformative activities for individuals with developmental disabilities, including but not limited to intellectual disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and Down syndrome. Our mission centers on guiding these individuals toward meaningful relationships within the community while supporting their unique strengths. Committed to enriching the lives of individuals with disabilities, BISNF plays a vital role in fostering inclusivity within our community.
Industry:
Our organization operates within the human services sector, focusing specifically on adults with developmental disabilities through our daily activity program. This program provides respite care and community engagement to 17 families spanning Kitsap County.
Available Board Positions:
1. Human Resources Expertise:
We seek an individual with HR experience to manage crucial aspects such as payroll, workplace policies, annual evaluations, training, onboarding, and overseeing the hiring process in collaboration with the Executive Director.
2. Legal Expertise:
BISNF is in search of an individual with legal experience, preferably in a non-profit setting, to provide vital support by writing policies aligned with Washington state laws, overseeing contracts, and offering legal perspectives during board meetings.
3. Fundraising Expertise:
We are looking for an individual, or multiple individuals, to lead the fundraising committee on our board. This passionate individual will play a pivotal role in developing annual fundraising plans, overseeing plan implementation, and identifying external resources of support, such as grants and sponsorships. Additionally, they will recruit key volunteers to assist with fundraising efforts.
4. Community Outreach
Individuals with a passion for connecting the community with our program are invited to fill this role. Responsibilities include identifying events where BISNF can raise awareness about our organization and mission.
5. PR and Marketing
BISNF is seeking an individual with PR and marketing expertise to support the organization by disseminating information about fundraising events, our program, and other relevant activities. Duties include assisting BISNF staff with social media, designing fundraising materials, and connecting with local vendors to enhance event promotion.
